Club Championship Series 2010

Rules

The Club Championship Series rules are to be followed by all participants. By signing up to participate, competitors agree to follow these rules. Failure to do so may result in forfeit games or playing restrictions in future competitions.

Rostering

  • Team Captains are responsible for the team's rostering. Captains should be responsive to communication from other captains as well as the Series.
  • A player may play on only one team.
  • Players may not switch teams after Sectionals have begun
  • Players must have a Global ID to compete. Only @forums is allowable.
  • Players may not edit other teams's pages or related content

Team Member Restrictions

  • No team may have more than 9 players on it's roster.
  • No team may have less than 6 players on it's roster.
  • Teams may not have 5 or more players who have played on the same team in any competition in the 3 months prior to Sectionals.
  • Teams may not put on the grid at once 4 or more players who have played on the same team in any competition in the 3 months prior to Sectionals.
  • For the Mixed Sectional, teams must have at least 2 players from the Americas and 2 from Europe on the grid at all times.

Match Reporting

  • Both teams must report the exact match score on the match page within 24 hours of the match completion.
  • Game point totals are required
  • Server logs are kept only as back ups, but can be referenced in case of a dispute.
  • Teams must report the players that participated for their team.
  • Conflicts should also be reported on match pages within 24 hours of the match completion

Servers

  • Servers must adhere exactly to the listed configuration file.
  • Servers must provide chat and score logs after each event day.
  • Server admins may not interact with the server while a match is in progress.

Competition Format

Sectionals Format

  • Sectionals will take place over the course of a weekend.
  • Sectionals will consist of a round robin. Every team in a Section will play every other team.
  • Each Sectional game consists of a single 6v6 match to 100 points, or highest score after 10 rounds, with no time limit.
  • Sectional matches that end in a 15 point differential or less are ties.
  • Teams are awarded 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 for a loss.
  • The team with the most points in each Sectional will advance to Divisionals.
  • Two Wild Cards will also advance to Divisionals.
  • 6 teams advance total
Wild Cards
  • The first wild card will be awarded to the 2nd place team with the fewest losses.
  • The second wild card will be awarded to the 2nd place team in the largest Sectional.

Divisionals Format

  • Divisionals will take place in one day
  • Based upon Sectional point totals, the 6 teams will be seeded into 2 Divisional pools.
  • Division A will consist of Seeds 1, 3, 5.
  • Division B will consist of Seeds 2, 4, 6.
  • Divisionals will consist of a round robin. Every team in each Division will play each other twice.
  • Each Divisional game consists of a single 6v6 match to 100 points, or highest score after 10 rounds, with no time limit.
  • There are no ties
  • Division A will play the first three games in a European server. Seed 1 v Seed 3, Seed 3 v Seed 5, Seed 1 v Seed 5.
  • Division B will play the first three games in an American server. Seed 2 v Seed 4, Seed 4 v Seed 6, Seed 2 v Seed 6.
  • Division A will then play the second three games in an American Server. Seed 1 v Seed 3, Seed 3 v Seed 5, Seed 1 v Seed 5.
  • Division B will then play the second three games in an European Server. Seed 2 v Seed 4, Seed 4 v Seed 6, Seed 2 v Seed 6.
  • The top two teams from each Division will advance to Worlds. 4 teams advance total.

Worlds

  • Worlds will take place in one day.
  • Based upon Divisional point totals, the 4 teams will be seeded into 2 semifinals.
  • Semifinal A will consist of Seeds 1 and 3
  • Semifinal B will consist of Seeds 2 and 4
  • The higher seed will pick the server region.
  • Worlds games consist of best 2/3 6v6 matches to 100 points, or highest score after 10 rounds, with no time limit.
  • The winners of each Semifinal will advance to the Finals
  • The first team to win 2 Finals matches will win the Club Championship.

Tiebreakers

  • In the event of a tie in the standings at any level of competition, the first tiebreaker is game point differential for that level of the competition
  • Should the first tiebreaker be inconclusive, the second tie breaker is total points for that level of the competition.
  • Should the tie still be unresolved, the third tiebreaker is total point differential at all levels of competition.
