There are ways to make maps, and there are ways to make maps.

Making Maps
There are a number of resources available to help you make maps right now and start using them.

By Hand
Making Maps by Hand
This is the only supported way to make maps right now. It is a tutorial that is created by the Map Master himself and hopefully maintained by him (with everyone's help). It is your first and best resource to what exactly goes into a map, how to put it there, and how it works in the game. Even if you choose to use a graphical map maker, you still need to read this, so consider it required reading.

Experimental Map Features
These are features that are either in development or only available in a non-stable release. Use at your own risk!

Acme
Acme is a currently experimental mostly-doesn't-work graphical map editor that's in Armagetron Advanced's cvs. If you'd like to fool with it, go to this page and read about it, but be warned, it mostly doesn't work.

ArmaBell's MapEditor
ArmaBell's MapEditor is a currently experimental graphical Win32 map editor. If you'd like to fool with it, go to this page and read about it.

Tools and Generators
* Circle Generator

Viewing Maps
Map Previewer

Nemostultae made a neat little web application that renders a map to a picture right in your browser. When used in conjunction with a text editor, it is a powerful tool to help make maps. In fact, the output of this page is currently considered required information if you want any server administrator to use your map on his server.

Playing Maps
So you've made your killer map, now how do you play it?

In alphabetical order:

Labyrinth
The first of its kind, a maze server using automatically generated mazes that change every 5 minutes. While it's a mathematical certainty that some mazes must eventually be repeated, it is unlikely that you'll experience this phenomenon.

MicroBusCity
This server has long walls and high speeds. Brake users need not apply. This server is a standard gladiatorial-style arena where you are expected to kill or be killed.

~"XzL.Clan Server / Old ~*SpeedeR*~ Server
This server is similar to MicroBusCity. It has high speed, non-infinite walls, and the scoring is based upon core dumps making this server more challenging. This server also has a quickly expanding deathzone that loves to eat your lightcycle.

RaceToWinzone
You drive on the server a genuine running - head at head - with a speed from 0 to > 700. Obstacles will try you there to stop. The level are labyrinth-well-behaved however without erring courses. One must also never the way seeks to separate to simply only loose-race. There are different types of level. Times an obstacle run, times goes it through narrow tunnels, times must you try between the barks to drive. Adrenalin impacts are guaranteed.

Swampland
This server offers shorter walls and moderately high wall acceleration. It is also a standard gladiatorial-style arena. This server is run by Swampy.

Swamplords on Crack
Lucifer runs this server to provide a gladiatorial fight with a twist: map rotation. Every new match you are faced with a different map. The maps available in the rotation are subject to change but are generally accepted from the community. High speeds and higher rubber make this a fight you won't want to miss, if you think you can handle the relatively small arena sizes.

World of TNA
Built for the grid game roulette, this server is run by TiTnAsS.
