{{:TST/Blurb}}

==About==
*Each team consists of 2 players; this is a 2v2v2v2 tournament.
*The first team to reach 2000 points advances to the next round.
*In some stages of the tournament, the team in 2nd place at the end of the match will also advance through to the next round.
*Once you have played for a team, you are not allowed to play for another team in the same tournament.
*Team captains are allowed to find a substitute if their teammate doesn’t show.
**If the team captain doesn’t show, their partner is only able to play and find a substitute if they have provided a valid authentication at registration.
*It is important that each round begins on time; teams are allowed no longer than 5 minutes past the scheduled time to arrive and get ready. Once 5 minutes have passed, the teams will be locked and the match will begin.
**If the team captain is on time but not their partner, the captain may start playing the match alone, having the partner or a substitute join at a later point mid-game. (Make good use of the /lock and /invite commands!)
**If the partner has provided an authentication at registration and the team captain isn’t showing, the partner may start alone or invite a substitute once the 5 minutes have passed.
**If the delay is due to a previous round taking longer than scheduled, the 5 minutes start only once all of the relevant previous rounds have been finished.
*People who cause a disturbance in the tournament servers will be silenced, suspended, kicked, and/or banned at the moderators’ discretion.
*Be friendly and have fun.

<big>'''About'''</big>
:Dogfight Throwdown is a single elimination event played in Loose Dogfight servers. DFT will take place on October 25, 2014. Each match will end with the first team who reaches 15 points. The winning team will then move up the brackets. Each team will consist of 3 players at max (not including substitutes). Any questions can be asked to Insomnia clan at Rxtron.com
<big>'''Purpose'''</big>
:The main purpose of this tournament is to bring people back to the game and to bring more people to play loose df. The game is slowly dying in certain parts of the game, so I hope to create this tournament to bring some people back and to strength a weakening area of the game.
<big>'''Rules'''</big>
* The basic rules can be located at [[Basic rules for bams dft]]. This is a LOOSE dogfight tournament, which requires human referees. All judgments from referees will be final. Any tight play will not be tolerated. There will be zero arguments with a referee. Argument could cause in elimination.
* Each player is allowed into one team.
* Each team IS allowed to sub out as many players as they'd like as long as the sub's have not participated in any other team in the current Throwdown.
* Teams and referees are required to meet at the server designated on the bracket at the specified time. If after 10 minutes no members from one team shows up, that team forfeits. The match will start no later than 15 minutes after the designated start time, even if a team cannot field 3 members.

* Teams may commute to a different DFT server if there is an unoccupied one, but only after first meeting in the designated server (in case lag becomes an issue).
* If a referee fails to show up for a match, please come into another DFT server to locate one. Matches must be played with referees.
* Teams may agree to start their matches earlier if they are both ready, or later if one of the teams is still in another match.
<big>'''Signing Up'''</big>
*'''Authentication is required to participate in the tournament.''' Team leaders must list their Global ID here on the challenge board when signing up. As a precaution, please have a minimum of two (2) players assuming the role of team leader so your team has the greatest chance to participate without login problems. Team leaders should be familiar with using commands to /op players, /lock their team, /invite members, and start_new_match. You can add as many substitutes as you need, but once a player has played in a match they are bound to that team and cannot play for any other team. Players can only be listed once on the Challenge Board and may only play for one team during the tournament.
*Sign-ups are closed 3 days before the tournament date. Servers will then be placed on the bracket randomly. Following this, the listed teams will be randomized and loaded into the bracket. If your team fails to make the cut-off, please contact a tournament organizer for help.
*If you do not have a team, there are Open Team (or teams) for you! Add your name to one of them freely if you are sure you can play. If this team does not have a team captain yet, you should be the one. You are free to start one if there are no listed Open Teams or if all of them are full.
<big>'''Teams'''</big>
:Please post your team name and players in the Teams section below using the following template:

<big>'''Referees'''</big>
*If you are a referee, you must review the official gameplay rules before the tournament.
*The following people are found in loose dogfight servers regularly. They know loose dogfight well enough to referee matches. Super leaders are one access_level higher then Team Leaders and gain additional powers (/suspend, /silence). They are responsible for making sure a match is played by the rules (if you get caught discriminating against a certain team or abusing your power you will be removed from the list forever).
*If you're interested in being an Admin/Referee please contact the insomnia clan forum, the official armagetron forums, or on the grid.
