Congratulations Wraith Squadron Members on a great job during the ladle. Do to our small size we were almost dropped from the competition but you rose victorious and managed to win a second place standing.

We need to make sure we have a reasonable form of communication with each other as we must enter the server within a few minutes of each other. As far as coordinating the team MSN seems to be working the best. Remember windows includes the MSN client and you can use your hotmail account to log in.

Next team practice will be:
Wendesday July 19th at 9PM PST - 12AM EST - 4AM GMT
We will meet on the US Fortress server, MSN will also be on.

Please leave notes on how this or other times works out for you.

Stick your name down on a list, or start your own team. The system of organising ourselves for THE LADLE is slightly different than the first tournament. Based on player feedback, we are going to try to organise the timing a little better so that the day (Sat 29th July) runs smoothly...

Please indicate a captain. Check out the Challenge Room for the way the play-offs are organised.

Don't just put your name in the pool list. It would be better if you create a team as we are trying to get up to 16 teams.. then enlist team-mates!

International Tron World Cup

Upacreek: /* United States of America */

International Tron Worldcup
In this tournament can participe all fortress players. Just post your name down here under the name of your country(Just the name, without your clan's tag.).

This is organized in countries, if your country isn't here down, edit this page and add it, it will be nice if you respect the alphabetic order.

After all interested players register we will update this page with all the instructions of the tournament. Meanwhile here are some clues:

The main plan is that it will be a fortress tournament, played in play-offs mode, when teams are ready, there will be a picture showing the branckets of the road to Tron World Cup. And if it is possible we will try to respect football world cup branckets :D

In case of some coutries goes short, there will be a alliances, the way they will be is trying to join to another geo-near (example: spain+portugal->iberia, austria+switc->alps, nordics, ...) or just fusion with other short team (we will try to respect issues like belgium and netherland one :P).

A short team will be one with less than 5 players, this will be the minimum numbers of players to play a match.

Start date not fixed yet, waiting for all teams to be formed.
Teams that are ready- 4/12 - 33%

Team Captains all meet at the same location, a chat-room, and challenge one another in the next round. Provisionally, I can set up my computer to host a game and we can use the chat facilities there: look for 2020's T-room. This will only be available at the right times since I hope to be playing: 9pm, 9.45, 10.30, 11.15.

Team Captains have to decide on two things within 5 mins: who to play next and where.
;where
:Team Captains should make sure they choose an apropriate server to the PING their players get, perhaps compiling a favourite list from their players before the matches. Check out the available servers at LADLE fortress-servers.
;who
:It is the Team Captains collective responsibility to find a suitable opponent. Since we are running with a very short time schedule, captains must be very strict with themselves and sort games out quickly. It would be nice to have some software to help with this process, something to do with a captain's team loses by default if they do not accept a challenge at the end of 5 mins... but we are running short on time and we may just have to trust team captains to sort it out.
;when
:Please make sure all your players know about the timing. First round is at 9pm GMT to sort out if there are more than 8 teams (with multiple entries from large teams), and then the competition starts in earnest at 9.45pm GMT with the quarters, 10.30pm GMT with the semis, and the final at 11.15pm GMT.

**WE CANT PLAY LOD BECUASE SL IS PLAYING THEM...SINCE ONLY 4 OF US CAN SHOW UP TO THE FIRST ROUND AND ABOUT 10 CAN SHOW UP THE SECOND ROUND AND SINCE THERE ARE 7 TEAMS, CAN WE PLEASE GET A BYE IN THE FIRST ROUND. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ASAP. --Durka
***Good grief -- it depends on who turns up and who challenges who and accepts... don't worry.... remember the second round is the quarter finals with 8 teams, so we may not even have a first round... relax

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* WS will chalange LOL on first round... The Wraith Squadron could play you guys, Durka...that would be fair because we only have 5 members also, and I'm not sure if all of us will show up, probably only 4 at the most, and maybe only 3, so it would be a good 4v4...if only one of us gets the 'bye', then the other one of us will be outnumbered, whoever we play. This will make it fair, maybe the largest team will get the bye. - Manta/Upacreek

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Team captains can use the discussion page here to discuss matters, and they may be asked to collect at 2020's T-room before the competition begins, perhaps an hour before (but the worldcup France v Brazil is on... so we may have to start just before 9pm). They will then have an hour before the first matches to organise their teams, make sure they have a sure-fire communications set up for them, so that they can enter a server exactly on time and play a match.

THE LADLE is only going to work with the skillful and patient contributions of all Team Captains. Teams -- choose well!

provisional play-offs
1.

Durka seems to have a good idea. We could try to set up the first round here so that it gives time for players to assemble etc. Team-captains should turn up at 2020's T-room at 9pm GMT just to say they are present and conducting their game. They return to their server, play their match, and at 9.45 the winning captains assemble at 2020's T-room to meet the other winning captains to determine the second round. Since there are only seven teams, there will only be three rounds, with one bye in the first round.

2.

Since some teams only have 5 players and other have more than ten, let us play matches of 5v5 or thereabouts and so we may get multiple teams fielded by eg speeders. This might only be determined at the time depending on who turns up. This complicates matters. To give us all more time, I would like to propose that we stick to the original time-frame:
9pm first round, 9.45 quarters, 10.30 semi's, and 11.15 finals. Which means, the first round might or might not be happening...

3.

Remember: assemble your players somewhere where you can communicate with them easily! Whether it is a chat room, your clan's forums or this wiki, or a server, or where-ever -- just get a simple mode of communication to tell them where and when. We have five minutes to get us to the right server and ready to start the match!

;LOL challenge LOD at z-man's Ladle fortress(Let it be in LoD server because of better pings.)
;WS Challenges LoL at Bugfarm fortress. (Unless another open server comes online) -- apparently SL is playing LoD? so we challenge LoL, if that is the case.
;good grief... all captains will have to pair off within 5 mins... be brave and accept the challenge... flipping a coin is a crappy way of deciding who plays whom but if it comes down to it, i am ready 2020

first round
The first round play-offs will be announced here immediately after team-captains have met at 2020's T-room at 9pm GMT and confirmed their participation. There will only be games if there are more than 8 teams (because some team lists may wish to field more than one team -- remember each team needs a representative captain!); if that's the case, use this time to practice!

*only seven teams... and we took 20mins to set up the quarters -- see below

quarters
The quarter-final play-offs will be announced here immediately after team-captains have met at 2020's T-room at 9.45pm GMT and confirmed their participation. This is when the competition really gets under way.

* AW v Speeders at zman's ladle 2-0
* WS v LOL at bugfarm 2-1
* lod v SL at LOD server 0-2
* CT get bye

semis
The semi-final play-offs will be announced here immediately after team-captains have met at 2020's T-room at 10.30pm GMT.

* AW v SL at zman's ladle 1-2, 98v98 in final match... soooo close... started at 11.10 finished at 11.55
* WS v CT at bugfarm -- CT forfeits, doesn't show up

final
The final play-off will be announced here after team-captains have met at 2020's T-room at 11.15pm GMT.

(Unless another open server comes online) -- apparently SL is playing LoD? so we challenge LoL, if that is the case.

first round
The first round play-offs will be announced here immediately after team-captains have met at 2020's T-room at 9pm GMT and confirmed their participation. There will only be games if there are more than 8 teams (because some team lists may wish to field more than one team -- remember each team needs a representative captain!); if that's the case, use this time to practice!

quarters
The quarter-final play-offs will be announced here immediately after team-captains have met at 2020's T-room at 9.45pm GMT and confirmed their participation. This is when the competition really gets under way.

semis
The semi-final play-offs will be announced here immediately after team-captains have met at 2020's T-room at 10.30pm GMT.

final
The final play-off will be announced here after team-captains have met at 2020's T-room at 11.15pm GMT.

Ladle
