The Underdog Team Sumo Tournament will be played on Saturday July 25th, 2026 at 17:00 GMT.
  • Sign ups are OPEN through July 24th or until rosters fill.
  • Each team: one captain (1900+ TST) and two players (below 1900 TST).
  • Register a team below, or sign up as a free agent on the RCL event hub.

About

  • Underdog TST is a Retrocycles League community Team Sumo Tournament pairing experienced captains with developing players.
  • Each team consists of a team captain (coach) and 2 players.
    • The captain must be above 1900 ELO on the TST Leaderboard.
    • Each player must be below 1900 ELO on the TST Leaderboard.
  • Matches are played with a 1500 point limit.
  • Teams are seeded into lobbies to play a set (round of matches) and gain set points based on placement: 4 / 2 / 1 / 0.
  • If there is an uneven number of teams, unseeded teams rest for that set and gain 1 set point. A team rests only once for the whole event.
  • After each set, teams are seeded again by total set points (highest to lowest).
  • After an established number of rounds (based on sign-ups), a final match is played between the teams with the most set points.
  • Tie-breakers use individual scores — remember to screenshot the scoreboard at the "Match Winner" text.
  • Substitute players are allowed (they must still follow the ELO threshold rule). Once a player joins a team as a substitute, they cannot play for any other team in the event.
