Club Championship Series 2010

Sectionals

The first stage of each Club Championship Series is Sectionals. There are four sections and each team signs up to compete in one of them. The first stage of play will pit each team in a given Section against one another. The first place team from each Section advance to Divisionals alongside two Wild Cards. For information about team sign ups, look to Rostering. There are four Sections: Open, Mixed, Europe, and Americas. Some sections have particular Team Member Restrictions. Please note the characteristics of each Section before signing up.

Open

Open has no additional restrictions on roster geography or servers. Any team qualified to play in the Club Championship Series is qualified to play in the Open Sectional. Servers will be assigned as it is convenient and teams should recognize Open Sectional server assignments are random and may not be "fair." Please see Rostering before signing up.
Teams

Mixed

Mixed has additional restrictions on roster geography. Mixed teams must have at least two players from the Americas and two players from Europe on the grid at all times. Server assignments will represent Europe and the Americas in equal amounts. Some teams qualified to play in the Club Championship Series may not qualify to play in the Mixed Sectional. Americas

Americas has no additional restrictions on roster geography or servers. Any team qualified to play in the Club Championship Series is qualified to play in the Americas Sectional. Servers assignments will exclusively represent the Americas. Timing will attempt to be convenient for timezone between GMT+4 to GMT+8. Please see Rostering before signing up.
Teams

Europe

Europe has no additional restrictions on roster geography or servers. Any team qualified to play in the Club Championship Series is qualified to play in the Europe Sectional. Servers assignments will exclusively represent Europe. Timing will attempt to be convenient for timezone between GMT+1 to GMT-4. Please see Rostering before signing up.
Teams

Sectionals Format

  • Sectionals will take place over the course of a weekend.
  • Sectionals will consist of a round robin. Every team in a Section will play every other team.
  • Each Sectional game consists of a single 6v6 match to 100 points, or highest score after 10 rounds, with no time limit.
  • Sectional matches that end in a 15 point differential or less are ties.
  • Teams are awarded 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 for a loss.
  • The team with the most points in each Sectional will advance to Divisionals.
  • Two Wild Cards will also advance to Divisionals.
  • 6 teams advance total

Wild Cards

  • The first wild card will be awarded to the 2nd place team with the fewest losses.
  • The second wild card will be awarded to the 2nd place team in the largest Sectional.
