The true key to defeating the bots is simply recognizing the bots shortcomings. They can be surprisingly smart and they will make perfect turns in tight spaces. However, they can't think very far ahead. Getting a lot of speed and cutting them off won't always work because they will either run away or "tunnel" to out of your trap. One way to take them out is to create a dead end by reversing direction and hoping the bot follows your initial path. Another way is to look for irregular spaces and "trace" closely around existing walls, hoping they try to navigate between and fail.
