'TRON' is a Disney film released in 1982 and is part of the inspiration for Armagetron, specifically the Lightcycle scene in the movie. TRON, while not considered a huge box-office success, had a major cultural impact and set the groundwork for CGI and computer animation to play a massive role in film making.
